In the states, we are celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow. My mind instantly goes to roasted turkey and Charlie Brown specials.

My mind also goes to being grateful.

And I have so many things to be grateful for: my husband, my kids, my family in general, my health, my friends, etc. The list goes on, and I am grateful everyday for all that I have.

This year is a bit different.

As you may or may not know, I lost my dad earlier this year. It’s been ups and downs all year, as you can imagine.

But I’ve realized my dad gave me something so valuable, and I really hope to pass it onto my boys.

I’ve been going through a ton of books lately, which I hope to share with you on my new podcast coming out. But that is another story for another time.

One book is called Rocket Fuel. Have you read it?

Visionary vs Integrator

It’s about how most entrepreneurs are either a “visionary” or an “integrator.” And they really fall to one or the other. No one is really both with 50%-50%. And it says both are needed to run a successful business.

You need a visionary with the ideas, and you need an integrator to be able to carry out the ideas successfully.

While reading Rocket Fuel, I realized my dad was a visionary. He was an ideas guy. He always had ways to do things better, and he wasn’t good at doing what he was told. He didn’t like having a boss.

But growing up in a blue collar world in the 60s, 70s, and 80s: no one knew what to do with that.

He had his own business. But as it grew, he got overwhelmed with the “nuts & bolts” and just gave it up. He really needed an integrator to help him.

Now, I am an integrator. I love figuring out how things work and making systems to get it to flow. (That’s why I love technology and sharing how I get it to work.)

Having a Vision

But I got a little bit of the visionary from him, and I LOVE it. Love, love, love it!

I definitely don’t like having a boss. I feel like there are so many ways to help people by really connecting with them instead of going into an office everyday to help some CEO, who is already rich, get even richer.

My passion is to help other women figure out how to handle the technology in their own businesses. So they don’t let the technology hold them back from pursuing their dream. And then they can become wealthy, whatever that means for them.

I have ideas, and I want to go after them.

And I want to pass that passion onto my boys. I want them to have ideas and go after them. I want them to look at the world and see what they can do to make it a better place. Whether it’s helping 1 person or 1 million.

Having a Vision

So, thank you, Dad! I miss you each and every day. But your gifts are with me always. And I’m so very grateful.

I sincerely hope you have a ton to be grateful for. Love and peace to you this beautiful holiday season.
